The infinite possibilities of puppet theatre…
Luke Baio and Dominik Grünbühel explore these with their means of dance, performance, projection, objects and music. Together with the sound magician Andreas Berger and the dancer/performer Dong Uk Kim, they embark on a journey.
All the way down to the bottom of the sea.
All the way up to the gods of puppet theatre.
All the way into the depths of the hole – the peep-box.
The collaboration between the two dancers and LILARUM began in 2018 on the initiative of dreizurdritten stadtkultur with the aim of exploring intersections across genre boundaries. Both art forms – dance and puppet theatre – should benefit from new impulses, and new spaces of experience should open up for the audience. After an initial guest performance and a commissioned installation last year, “Down In The Hole”, the latest work by “Luke & Dom”, is now being premiered. Inspired by the theatre space of the LILARUM, Baio and Grünbühel, supported by the performer Dong Uk Kim, explore the possibilities of figure theatre with their means of dance, performance, projection, objects and music (live: Andreas Berger). In the process, they go right into the depths of the hole – the peep-box.
Concept/performance: Luke Baio, Dominik Grünbühel; sound design: Andreas Berger; performance: Dong Uk Kim; lighting: Julian Vogel; technics: Roman Harrer; costume: Stefan Röhrle.
